Juma TRX-2 Firmware

Postby 5B4AIY » 04 Jul 2019 07:12

There is now an updated version of the firmware for the Juma TRX-2 transceiver. This update, Version 5.00a Build 8, improves the serial port mode selection by adding a DISABLED choice to ensure that stray characters are rejected. This version can be safely loaded over a previous version 5, but if you are updating from an earlier version then there will be a 'Checksum Error!' message on initial start-up. This is perfectly normal, and should only occur the first time. Make a note of your calibration and configuration settings prior to loading the new firmware and restore them afterwards.

If you are updating from an original version, (Prior to version 2) then as the measurement system is completely different you will have to re-calibrate the transceiver.

NOTE: In the Calibration Mode, when setting the RF Power calibration DO NOT TRY TO SET THE OUTPUT TO 10W. THE INPUT DRIVE ATTENUATOR IS DELIBERATELY SET TO -3dB TO AVOID OVERSTRESSING THE PA. AS INSTRUCTED IN THE USER MANUAL, SET THE OUTPUT TO 5W, and the transceiver will then give 10W on CW transmit when operating in its normal mode.

There is also an updated User Manual.
